Jordan Spieth drains dramatic bomb of a putt to pull even with British Open lead
Boom! The reigning Masters and U.S. Open winner is back in a share of the lead with two holes to play.
Jordan Spieth’s Open Championship hopes seemed over after the 8th hole, which he double-bogeyed with some of his worst putting of the week.
Since then, however, he’s gone on an incredible run to get back to the lead. At the 16th hole, Spieth pulled even at 15-under with a bomb of a putt. He’s now tied with Zach Johnson, who is already safely in the clubhouse, and Marc Leishman, who is on the 18th hole.
Spieth now heads to the 17th, which is the most difficult par-4 in championship golf. The 18th is a reasonable birdie opportunity and could present Spieth with a perfect chance to be the first player since 1953 to win the first three legs of a Grand Slam.
