Zach Johnson’s caddie puts John Daly to shame with his ‘Caddyshack’ socks

John Daly may be the Loudmouth king, but he’s got nothing on Damon Green, Zach Johnson’s colorful caddie (GIF via Luke Kerr-Dineen/For The Win).

Johnson is something of a third wheel, playing in the first two days of the PGA Championship with the marquee duo of Rory McIlroy and Jordan Spieth. But if his sizzling birdie-birdie-birdie start to Friday’s second did not capture your attention, how about the Al Czervik socks that Green was sporting?

You may remember Green’s chicken dance after his boss buried a critical putt on the 18th hole on his way to the 2015 British Open title at St. Andrews.

Oh, yeah, Zach’s hot start? Johnson hit only five fairways in Thursday’s PGA Championship opener and struggled to a 3-over 75. But he found the short grass on two of his first three tee shots on Friday and took advantage of the opportunities.

Starting on the 10th hole with the world Nos. 1 and 2, Johnson picked up where he left off on Thursday, when he finished an otherwise lusterless round with a 30-foot birdie on the ninth hole.

As for Daly, the 1991 PGA champ went rather conservative with his threads to start the week, but game on, Big John.

About the Caddyshack stockings -- Green and other players’ loopers wore them to raise awareness for the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
