Phil Mickelson hits outrageous sand shot, waves to adoring fans on a boat

This is the kind of flossy move that only Phil Mickelson could pull.

This is just an incredible sand shot from a fairway bunker that’s miles away from the pin. But the best part of the entire clip is Phil Mickelson’s sauciest of #TourSauce moves waving to the fans out on a boat in the distance. Lake Michigan provides a unique setting this week at Whistling Straits, and also a nice place to deposit a club you’re not particularly happy with.

But only Phil would stop to acknowledge some fans that had absolutely no chance to see the shot or know what happened. Between the fun with the seafaring fans and his toboggan ride down the hill on Friday, Phil seems to be enjoying himself more than anyone this week at the PGA Championship.

Update: Moments later, Phil pulled another one off at the 8th hole.
