2015 PGA Championship tee times: Jason Day, Jordan Spieth set for the final pairing

Two of the best players in the world will be the final two off the tee Sunday at Whistling Straits.

Jordan Spieth is well on his way to claiming Player of the Year, with two major championships already added to the trophy case. He could make it three in one season on Sunday, but in order to do so, he will first have to chase down Jason Day. Day holds the 54-hole lead at the 2015 PGA Championship with Spieth lurking in second place. The two will make up the final pairing on Sunday and will be the focus as the action comes down to the wire.

Day posted a 6-under round of 67 to move to 15-under and take sole possession of the lead. He was rolling along and on the way to an even better round had he not run into some trouble on No. 15. He had issues in the bunker and wound up making a double bogey. Had he not done that, he would be four or even five strokes clear of the field. As it stands, Day will once again have a very solid chance at his first major championship. He has been close several times, but is yet to break through in a major.

While a number of players surged early in the third round, Spieth was struggling to post red numbers during the first half of the round. He opened with a birdie, only to then card eight straight pars. Things turned on the back nine and he finished with six birdies in his final eight holes to shoot 65 and jump all the way into second place. The final pairing of a major is nothing new for Spieth who won the Masters playing in the final group. He was in the second-to-last group on Sunday when he won the U.S. Open.

Spieth and Day are familiar competitors. They played together during the first two rounds at the U.S. Open and were paired among the finals groups for the Monday finish at the British Open.

Justin Rose, Martin Kaymer and Dustin Johnson will also be among the players teeing off in the final few pairings on Sunday. Here is a look at the final round tee times. All times Eastern.
