Phil Mickelson ignites PGA crowd with hole-out eagle

The 2005 PGA Champ shows off his hall-of-fame wedge game.

Phil Mickelson is not going to win the PGA Championship, but he’s been the most entertaining player at Whistling Straits this week. There was the toboggan ride down the fescue hill in his $1500 pants on Friday. There was the major run early Saturday, which featured eight birdies in his first 13 holes and the flossiest little wave to some adoring fans on a boat. And Sunday he’s igniting the crowd with hole-out eagles. This one came at the par-4 6th hole, which he tried to drive from 343 yards away off the tee.

He missed driving the green, but still figured out a way to cut a corner and make the eagle.
