A person’s butt stopped Jordan Spieth’s golf ball from going in the water

<> p>Jordan Spieth complained on Thursday about errant tee shots, but he proved midway Friday’s second round in Abu Dhabi that he could hit the broad side of a fan.

While the lucky shot likely saved Spieth a stroke or two by hitting a movable obstruction rather than a water hazard, the guy who took the blow will no doubt have a black-and-blue reminder that he was struck by the world’s No. 1 golfer.

Hilarity, British-style, ensued, with the commentator chuckling about how the fan will “be standing at the bar tonight.”

Spieth hit his wayward drive off the ninth tee, when he was 2-over for the round. After escaping with a par on the hole, he cashed in on his stroke of good fortune and birdied the 10th.

After 13, Spieth was 3-under for the week — three shots clear of the projected cut line — and seven back of early 36-hole leader Andy Sullivan when officials suspended the fog-delayed round because of darkness.
