Golfer makes first hole-in-one on a Par-4 in LPGA history

Ha Na Jang cemented herself in the LPGA record book on Saturday when she recorded what is believed to be the first hole-in-one on a Par-4 in LPGA history. Jang drilled a 3-wood, 218 yards at the Pure Silk Bahamas LPGA Classic for the very rare albatross.

Jang holed out on No. 8 at the Oceans Club course. The hole typically plays 310 yards and into the wind, making it reachable by only the longest players or when the conditions are mild. The hole was shortened a bit on Saturday to 218 yards, making it much more accessible off the tee. Even at the shorter distance, it’s not easy to hole anything from that far away and Jang was properly excited about her place in history.

Jang wasn’t the only pro golfer to record an albatross on Saturday. Jason Gore holed out on his second shot of a Par-5 at Torrey Pines for a double eagle of his own.
