Sergio’s errant tee shot lands in marshal’s pocket at Hazeltine

Sergio Garcia channeled Phil Mickelson during his Saturday morning foursome match at Hazeltine when he hooked his tee shot on the par-4 fifth way left of center into the gallery — and into a marshal’s pocket.

After conferring with an official, Garcia got a free drop and his alternate-shot partner Rafa Cabrera Bello stuck the ball some 10 feet from the pin.

Patrick Reed fired up the already raucous crowd by making a birdie from off the green.

But Garcia went one better and buried his birdie putt to halve the hole. Just your run-of-the-mill Ryder Cup action.

In case the tee-to-pocket shot looked familiar, you’ll probably recall that Rory McIlroy hit a similar shot at the 2014 Tour Championship.
