Baby Jordan sneaker now used as a putter cover on PGA Tour

Steve Wheatcroft, of the Indiana, Penn., is not exactly a household name. In fact, the PGA Tour journeyman does not have his own spot on the golfodds.com list of handicapping most of the field in this week’s Players Championship; he’s part of the “Field (all others)” category.

But here’s hoping Wheatcroft works his way into contention this week so the viewing audience can catch a glimpse of what has to be the coolest putter cover ever — his kid’s Baby Jordan sneaker.

In case you were wondering, Wheatcroft, who shared the first-round lead last week at Quail Hollow before finishing T41, will kick off his first-ever Players Championship at 2:20 p.m. ET on Thursday on the first tee. Accompanying him will be Ken Duke and Andy Sullivan.
