Rickie Fowler lights up The Players in mismatched neon shoes
Rickie Fowler sets yet another new fashion trend with multi-color golf shoes.

Rickie Fowler caused quite the stir when he showed up for Thursday’s opening round of The Players Championship with his feet stuffed into a pair of shocking pink and yellow golf shoes.
Fashion-bucking/setting and neon are nothing new for the three-time PGA Tour winner, who regrettably made the flat-billed cap a popular item on the men’s circuit and regularly dons attire that would make John Daly blush. The spikes he donned for the first 18 holes at TPC Sawgrass did not go unnoticed by the folks at home.
Kind of impressed Rickie's shoes aren't melting. pic.twitter.com/XDKzx1F2EI

Was literally thinking yesterday how ridiculous wearing 2 different color shoes would be. Of course, Rickie goes out and does it today. SMH.

@AugustaGolfGirl HAHA. He's got a belt on, just same color. He's obviously channeling his @RickieFowler with the shoes! BTW, Rickie's shoes!

The suits at Puma, Rickie’s clothier of choice, are likely laughing all the way to the bank.

In this observer’s humble opinion, those kicks are wicked pissah (that’s Boston-ese for cool). While we’re pretty certain the shoes had nothing to do with it, Fowler got off to a fast start, with two birdies in his first three holes.
Golf Channel analyst Nick Faldo even came up with a name for Rickie’s foot warmers.

Rickie, who hopes to be the first Players champion to go back-to-back, dropped a shot on the par-4 fifth and was 1-under through five — eight strokes back of early clubhouse leader Jason Day.
