The opening day of the 2016 U.S. Open at Oakmont Country Club just outside of Pittsburgh, Pa. will have areas of showers and thunderstorms around, especially in the afternoon. A storm system will move in across the region late in the day Thursday and Thursday night.

One day during the 2016 PGA U.S. Open has a chance of rain but the other days look very nice. Here’s your complete weather forecast.
Showers and especially thunderstorms are possible for golfers who go out later in the day. Delays could be possible during the opening round as they try to finish up before darkness.
While a lingering shower Friday morning is possible, the rest of the weekend looks dry and warm. Winds also don’t look to be an issue this weekend.
THURSDAY -- OPENING ROUND WEATHER FORECASTS
The day starts off warm and partly sunny but as we go into the afternoon, showers and storms will form. Some storms could be strong with a few isolated severe ones around the area. Main concern will be heavy rain, lightning and gusty winds. High afternoon temperature around 82 with winds out of the southwest 5 to 10 mph.
FRIDAY -- SECOND ROUND WEATHER FORECAST
There’s a small chance of a shower in the morning but the day and most, if not all, of the 2nd round should be dry. Temperatures near 80 in the afternoon with a northeast wind around 5 to 10 mph.
WEEKEND -- THIRD & FINAL ROUND WEATHER FORECAST
Lots of sunshine through the weekend and nice temperatures. Winds again should not be an issue and temperatures in the afternoon will be in the lower 80s.
