U.S. Open stream 2016: How to watch Saturday’s round live online

Everything is off schedule at this U.S. Open, but FOX will be live by 7:30 a.m. on Saturday with multiple streams up and running shortly thereafter.

The 116th U.S. Open has been off schedule from just three hours into the event on Thursday morning. The first horn for a weather delay blew just after 10 a.m. on Thursday and it was only the beginning of a day that featured a lot more rain that golf. Since then, it’s been a scramble and massive logistical challenge just to keep the hope of an on-time Sunday finish alive.

The Saturday schedule will be critical to getting across that finish line on Sunday. For the second straight day, they will play sun-up to sun-down golf hustling to get through 54 holes by Sunday morning. Less than half the field is done with the second round. The one half that’s out on the course will clean up their last few holes -- the last group is through 13 holes so it should take about an hour, resuming at 7:15 a.m. ET. The other half of the field, which never even started their second round will get it going on the 1st and 10th tee right at 7 a.m.

The last tee time in that half of the wave is at 9:12 a.m., so the entire second round should be done around 2:30 p.m. Then, they’ll make the cut, put the players back in threesomes off split tees and play until dark. The split-tee threesomes should condense everyone into a two-hour block and have the last group out around 4:30 or 5 p.m. It’s doubtful the leaders finish before dark, but they should have only a handful of holes left, making a Sunday finish perfectly manageable.

FOX has adapted to the constantly changing schedule, altering their own broadcast times to be on the air pretty much the entire time players are out on the course. On Friday, they moved their coverage window up two hours and went from 8 a.m. until 9 p.m. and on Saturday they will start even earlier, going live on FS1 at 7:30 a.m. FOX has been better in their second appearance at the plate, even with the curveballs that keep coming thanks to the weather and significantly disrupted schedule.

You can simulcast stream that early AM coverage via Fox Sports Go. Just 15 minutes after that, the first digital broadcast will be live on that app and USOpen.com. It will start with a featured holes stream at 7:45 a.m., and then the featured groups streams will be up and running by 8:30 a.m. Players in those featured groups streams will include Jordan Spieth, Rory McIlroy, Rickie Fowler, Danny Willett, Zach Johnson and Bryson DeChambeau.
