Bubba Watson has had enough of the U.S. Open

Bubba Watson tries to get to the third green via the fourth fairway. It did not go well.

Bubba Watson was all over the property early into Sunday’s final round of the U.S. Open at Oakmont, when the two-time Masters champ made triple-bogey on the par-4 third hole after playing his way into the green from the fourth fairway.

Watson, who began the day at 7-over -- 14 shots behind frontrunner Shane Lowry -- started out par-birdie. But he went into full “I’m outta here” mode when he slammed his ball too far left of his apparently intended target.

Things did not go well from there, as Watson had just 114 yards to the pin but came up short into a green-side bunker from deep rough after conferring with caddie Ted Scott. His third shot hit the green, then waved at the pin in the distance as it dove deep down the slope.

Bubba elected to putt his fourth, and, well, you can guess what happened next.

A triple-bogey 7 ensued, though Watson bounced back with a birdie on No. 4 and a par on the next. Ah, Bubba Golf.
