European Tour pro uses a putter from 200 yards away and hits it inside 10 feet
Russell Knox blasts a putter and pulls off an “impossible task.”
The Scottish Open is one of the marquee events on the European Tour. It draws a loaded field full of the regular Euro Tour players, and many American and PGA Tour talents get a week of links golf prep in here before The Open.
The European Tour has used this platform to try out their many different and creative stunts. They’ve done an excellent job at pulling these off in recent years, with Rory vs. the Robot, the fastest hole sprint, and the gong shot being just a few.
This year they asked the players to take a putter from 210 yards away at Castle Stuart. Some shanked, some got it just airborne enough to run up near the green, and others actually put themselves in position for a birdie chance.
Thomas Bjorn called it an “impossible task” but a few were able to pull it off. The best of the bunch was Russell Knox, a Scotsman who spends most of his time on the PGA Tour. Knox took a full cut, elevated the ball, and ran it up to nine feet!
