It feels like you can’t have an Open without some kind of weather becoming a significant issue for the players. It looks like 2016 will be no exception at Royal Troon Golf Club in Scotland. The best day of the whole tournament should be the first round before winds and rain could move in Friday through Sunday. But it’s not all bad.

Weather will have its say during the 2016 Open at Royal Troon Golf Club in Scotland.


THURSDAY -- OPENING ROUND WEATHER FORECAST
Fair weather is expected for the opening round of the 2016 Open. Mix of sunshine and clouds. There will be a WNW wind between 5 to 15 mph. Temperatures will reach the low 60s by the afternoon.
FRIDAY -- SECOND ROUND WEATHER FORECAST
Storm system moves in on Friday increasing the winds out of the south-southwest between 15 to 25 mph. Not great weather but no weather warnings or advisories expected. Rain showers are likely off and on and a temperature near 65 degrees.
WEEKEND -- THIRD & FINAL ROUND WEATHER FORECAST
Saturday will be between systems but some breezy conditions are likely. Gusts could reach 25 to 30 mph out of the west. It will be a cooler day with temperatures in the upper 50s to near 60. Sunday is a little better, still with a chance of a shower, some more wind and occasional sunshine. Remaining cool with temperatures in the 50s.
