British Open 2016 weather forecast: Rain and wind on day 2 of the Open Championship

Wind and rain impacted the second round of the British Open on Friday. We could see more wind for the rest of the tournament this weekend.

Rain and wind have impacted golfers on the second day of the 2016 Open Championship at Royal Troon Golf Club. This was expected with periods of heavy rain and gusty winds on Friday. Some winds have gusted to between 15 to 25 mph during the second round.

FRIDAY -- SECOND ROUND WEATHER FORECAST
The rest of the round will feature the gusty winds and periods of heavy rain. Winds could continue to gust near 15 to 25 mph. Temperatures the rest of the day will be around the low-to-middle 60s.

SATURDAY -- THIRD ROUND WEATHER FORECAST
We will be between weather systems to start the weekend. Clouds will linger and temperatures will be slightly cooler. Highs may only stay in the 50s during the day. It should be relatively dry but with cloudy to mostly cloudy skies. Winds will still be breezy out of the west between 10 to 20 mph and occasional gusts of 25 mph.

SUNDAY -- FINAL ROUND WEATHER FORECAST
Chance of showers along with breezy conditions will impact the course on Sunday. It will be cool with possible showers and breezy conditions. Winds will be out of the west-southwest between 10 to 20 mph and more gusts of 25 mph are possible.
