PGA Championship streaming 2016: How to watch Saturday’s round live online

Eric Sucar-USA TODAY Sports

Only 36 holes remain in the 2016 PGA Championship, and if the first two rounds of the tournament are any indication then the field is set up for a sprint to the finish. Rain has made for a soft course which has allowed players to attack and post some low numbers. The field posted a lot of red numbers in the first 36 holes with a couple players even making a run at a major championship record 62.

The scoring has been led by Jimmy Walker and Robert Streb, who both sit tied for the lead at 9-under. Walker shot 65-66 and has consistently made strong runs at birdies around the course. Streb got off to a slower start on Thursday, but tied the major championship scoring record with a 63 on Friday. Neither player has had much success in major championships, so the final pairing on the weekend of a major will be a unique experience.

The pack chasing the leaders includes several major winners and top-ranked players. That includes Jason Day (7-under), Henrik Stenson (6-under), Martin Kaymer (5-under), Patrick Reed (5-under) and Rickie Fowler (4-under). Day is the defending champion while Stenson is just a couple of weeks removed from winning the Open Championship. Fowler has had issues in majors this season, but has been steady this week. He shot 68-68 to sit five shots off the lead at 4-under.

CBS will make its coverage debut this week on Saturday, anchoring the television coverage. TNT will air the first three hours of the day, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. ET. At that point CBS will take over for the final five hours of live coverage. TNT handled the broadcast solo during the first two rounds. While there will be extended television coverage, there still isn’t much in the way of online coverage -- at least compared to the other major championships. There are no featured hole streams or first tee streams like we saw at The Open, the U.S. Open and the Masters. Instead, the streaming options on Saturday consist of marquee groups and a simulcast of the TV coverage.

That will at least allow viewers to follow most of the leaders live. The final six groups will tee off after coverage moves to CBS, with the final pairing not set to hit the course until 2:55 p.m. Both the marquee group stream and the TV simulcast stream will begin at 11 a.m. and run until 7 p.m. or the conclusion of play.

Here is a complete look at the third-round coverage. All times Eastern.
