PGA Championship 2016: TV schedule and live stream for Saturday’s afternoon coverage

The scores are out there on Saturday at the PGA Championship, where a softer Baltusrol and a relatively benign setup have some of the early players saying the major championship scoring record could fall. Both Justin Rose and his caddie said they thought a 62 could be out there. Then Phil Mickelson said not only is a 62 available, but he thought the course was set up for a possible 61. Soooo buckle up for what could be a wild afternoon at the PGA. We need it.

CBS will take the reins from TNT for the late coverage, shifting from Ernie Johnson and Ian Baker-Finch to the duo of Jim Nantz and Nick Faldo. CBS is the only network with multiple majors, bookending the season at Augusta and then usually during the mid-August PGA date. The Olympics schedule has thrown everything off so here we are on the weekend at the PGA and it’s ... still July? We’re still trying to catch our breath from that Sunday at The Open and we could get more low rounds and birdie barrages this weekend. The soft, warm and familiar voice of Nantz will take us home over the final two rounds.

The Saturday CBS coverage is supposed to run until 7 p.m. ET, but that may be pushed back with some New Jersey thunderstorms in the forecast for late afternoon. The PGA snuck through the first two days relatively unscathed. There was a 50-minute delay on Friday morning after Baltusrol took on more than an inch of rain Thursday night into Friday morning, but that’s been it, and we’ve stayed on schedule. If the storms are as intense as forecasted, it’s unlikely the leaders get through 54 holes by Saturday night. That CBS broadcast may run well past the 7 p.m. finish time.

Jason Day, Jordan Spieth, Patrick Reed, and Rickie Fowler are just some of the big names teeing off late. Expect to see most of their rounds throughout the CBS broadcast. Here’s the late media schedule for the third round at the PGA:
