Olympic golf 2016 live stream: How to watch Saturday’s Round 3 online

There will be multiple streams up and running for Saturday’s round in Rio.

Free golf! That’s what, if nothing else, these Olympics have provided on this manic and jammed golf calendar. NBCOlympics will simulcast stream all four rounds of the broadcast being shown on Golf Channel. In addition to that simulcast, there’s also a spotlight stream that covers three of the more exciting and critical holes at this brand new Gil Hanse designed Rio Olympics course.

There were definite moments of sluggishness in the first two rounds. That was going to happen with such a small field and with many of the top players not showing up in Rio. But every event can have those lulls during a seven to nine hour long broadcast, even the major championships. Golf Channel just needs to hope that some of the big names in the field, such as Henrik Stenson and Justin Rose, stay where they are, which is near the top of the leaderboard.

Another big boost for the Golf Channel audience would be Bubba Watson getting involved. He’ll need to make a Moving Day charge on Saturday. His first round put him at a disadvantage, the putter going cold early and an inexcusable double bogey on a par-5 had him over-par. But a solid 4-under round on Friday put him back in the red and with a shot at a medal. He just needs to get going early on Saturday and post a mid-60s, maybe even low 60s, round to have a good chance on Sunday.

Golf Channel is going live at the very start of each of these four rounds. That’s a bit unorthodox on the weekend, when the pairings are sorted by score and those first groups are completely out of it at the bottom of the leaderboard. But this is their thing -- it’s the golf channel and this is the first time the game has been in the Olympics in 112 years, when there were not livestreams. So they’re showing every group right from the start of the round at 6:30 a.m. ET. Here are all your media options for the third round:
