Kiradech Aphibarnrat plays golf so he can keep buying Yeezys and Ferraris

Don’t we all play the game to bankroll an expensive watch, shoes, and Ferrari habit?

Those who follow golf closely have known about Kiradech Aphibarnrat for a few years now. Those who don’t follow golf closely probably aren’t familiar with the name. If you do not know about him, get to know more because he is the most lovable golfer and should be the most universally embraced player in the world. “Asia’s John Daly” has been a nickname thrown out there by the American press, and the Barnrat happily embraced such distinction.

Aphibarnrat plays all over the world on multiple tours, and this week he’s playing the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship over on the Euro Tour. After opening with a 66 that put him in second place, the Golf Channel hands on deck in Abu Dhabi had to talk to him. He revealed to Tim Rosaforte that he is basically just out here playing the game at a world-class level so he can make money to collect Yeezys, watches, and Ferraris.

Every time he talks, he’s incredibly engaging and entertaining. Kiradech is one of those people that golf needs more of and playing in as many places as possible.

While he does have a shoe habit, he’s kinda, maybe, kicked his on-course smoking habit. Of course, it’s been replaced by vaping.

Aside from the amazing personality, Kiradech is also really good at golf. He hits it a mile and has settled in among the top 100 players in the world rankings. He spent most of last year inside the top 50, and finished 15th in his debut at the Masters. This is not just some outer-fringe talent.

So if you’re unfamiliar with Kiradech, an interview in which he talks about getting married in a hot air balloon and collecting all the finer things, while giggling at himself repeatedly, is a pretty good way to get a peek into why he’s a golf cult god.
