We’re going to get a lot of Tiger Woods over the next five weeks. The 14-time major winner is scheduled to play four tournaments in that stretch, an unusually rigorous schedule for the selective legend. Woods obviously wants to get some reps in here in the early season, working on his swing after the longest layoff of his career. In his first event back, the Farmers Insurance Open, he may not get as many reps as he’d like.

Tiger starts Friday at Torrey Pines at 4-over following a opening round 76 on Thursday afternoon. The score put him in a tie for 133rd place and deep on the wrong side of the cut line. The good news for Tiger is he has 18 more holes to go on the far easier setup in this two-course rotation traditionally put in play for the first two rounds of this event. Woods will play the North Course on Friday, a track that was 3 strokes easier in the first round, keeping in line with the margin it’s historically been.

Woods will tee off at 12:30 p.m. ET, a full two and a half hours before TV coverage is supposed to start on Golf Channel. So if you’re planning on just tuning in on TV on Friday, you’re going to miss a majority of his second and perhaps final round of the week. PGA Tour Live, however, has made the obvious choice of putting Tiger’s group on their featured groups stream. So Woods, Jason Day, and Dustin Johnson will have the cameras rolling on them right from the very first tee ball.

This is PGA Tour Live’s second full season as an over-the-top subscription service provided by the Tour. The stream quality is just about perfect and there have been no major issues, aside from the usual grumbling about having to pay a subscription fee. This is obviously one of the service’s bigger moments, putting Tiger on their stream after the thirsty public has been robbed of watching him for some 522 days. If you’re unwilling to pay the subscription, they will have the stream running for free on Twitter at 11:45 a.m. and going, oh, about a hole into Tiger’s second round. So you can see the very beginning of his round but then it will be torn away from you at 12:50 p.m. ET. The subscription stream will go until 3 p.m. ET, when the Golf Channel coverage window begins. Tiger should be a couple holes into his back nine by then.
