Justin Timberlake’s near hole-in-one was only part of his incredible day at Pebble Beach Pro Am

The amateurs at the Pebble Pro-Am aren’t supposed to put together highlight reels like this.

The amateurs at the annual AT&T Pebble Beach Pro Am are always a big part of the weekend broadcast, but usually as a fun little sideshow, not for the actual quality of golfing their ball around the “most felicitous meeting of land and sea in creation.”

But Justin Timberlake put together the best highlight reel of anyone not named Jordan Spieth at Pebble on Saturday. The expectations are a little different, of course, but JT holed out twice from just off of the green and hit the best shot of the day at Pebble’s most famous hole, the par-3 7th.

While his partner, Justin Rose, took a selfie from the back of the tee, Timberlake lofted one down to the green and dropped a dart right on top of the flagstick that spun back and took a look at the entire hole:

The near-ace was closer than anyone else put a ball all day, including the pros. JT is a really strong amateur player, somewhere around scratch, according to the USGA’s Handicap Index. Compared to your weekend game at a home course, however, this Pebble Pro Am can be a different kind of pressurized event on a Tour setup at a world-class venue.

The tee ball at the 7th was the shot of the third round by any am or pro, but that was just a part of what was an all-time golf day for JT. He also holed out on back-to-back greens coming down the stretch with Rose. The compilation:

The two Justins have developed a relationship over the years and made appearances together at different events, including at Augusta National. It’s a bit of an odd duo but they were cooking on Saturday, with Rose draining a putt at the last that had Timberlake run onto the green for an intimate embrace:

With that kind of day, the two easily made the cut in the Pro-Am portion of the event and will play Pebble again on Sunday.
