Shell Houston Open 2017 purse: Winner will take home $1.26 million

It’s the last chance to make The Masters field, but the winner of the Shell Houston Open will take home a nice payday, too.

With just a few holes to play, Russell Henley and Sung Kang are dueling for the check and the exemption — with Henley currently holding a 1-shot lead with five holes to play at the Golf Club of Houston.

Wondering why your TV broadcast is well behind? Tape delay season is back and you can thank the forecast. Rains and severe weather in the forecast pushed up final round tee times on Sunday at the Golf Club of Houston, but that won’t be any matter to the winner. They’ll still get to catch an earlier flight off to Augusta, and will take home an 18 percent share of the tournament’s $7,000,000 purse.
