Masters tee times 2017: Pairings, featured groups for Sunday’s round

Rickie Fowler and Jordan Spieth are playing together in the day’s second-to-last pairing.

It’s Sunday at the Masters, and the tee sheet is absolutely delicious.

With a leaderboard as varied and tightly packed as this one, it doesn’t come as a surprise that viewers will be treated to a couple of blockbuster Sunday groups. But the tee sheet for the final round at Augusta National Golf Club really can’t be overestimated. This is going to be must-watch golf, to an even greater extent than Sunday at the Masters already is must-watch golf. The pairings are that juicy.

The final group of the day features a couple of veterans, co-leaders Justin Rose and Sergio Garcia. That’s a good match, in that both are at the top of their games and have years of experience in these kinds of events. Rose brings a cold-blooded consistency to the game, while Garcia is the player who’s been the best for the longest period of time without yet winning a major. Watching them together should be a delight.

The penultimate group might draw even more eyeballs, though. That features Rickie Fowler and Jordan Spieth, a couple of 20-somethings who are ranked sixth and eighth in the world, respectively. The two won the Ryder Cup together just last year and are known to be close friends. They’re also both within a couple shots of the lead on Sunday at the Masters, and they’ll be after each other all day at Augusta.

There are other excellent groups on the sheet, too. Adam Scott and Charl Schwarztel both won green jackets in the last six years, and they’ll be together in the fourth-to-last group to leave the tee box. The group right before them features Lee Westwood and Thomas Pieters, an old veteran on a Garcia-like major dry spell and a rising star who figures to be on the major scene for many years to come.

CBS’ live coverage of the final round begins at 2 p.m. ET and continues through the green jacket ceremony that follows the tournament. Before the network broadcast goes on the air, you can follow a handful of featured groups on a live stream at the Masters’ official website. That streaming broadcast will run from about 10:45 a.m. ET until the pairings are off the course. Those groups:

10:45 a.m. ET: Adam Hadwin, Louis Oosthuizen

11:25 a.m. ET: Matthew Fitzpatrick, Emiliano Grillo

12:15 p.m. ET: Steve Stricker, Hideki Matsuyama

12:25 p.m. ET: Jason Day, Justin Thomas

Here’s the full tee sheet. The first player takes to the course at 10:05 a.m. ET (Ernie Els, working by himself), and the final pairing leaves at 2:45 p.m.
