The Players Championship is set to get underway on Thursday, and the field includes the biggest golfers in the sport. It’s the biggest tournament since the Masters, and the action will get underway from TPC Sawgrass on Thursday afternoon.

Coverage of the tournament will be carried by Golf Channel in the United States. They will have pre-tournament coverage live from the course at 9 a.m. ET on Thursday, and will carry coverage throughout the day and into the evening. Primary coverage of the on-course action gets underway at 1 p.m. Those hoping to watch online can do so easily via NBC Sports Live and Golf Channel.

The first group will tee off at 7:10 a.m., with the biggest early name being Rickie Fowler teeing off alongside Henrik Stenson and Jason Day at 8:16 a.m. Day is the defending champion at the Players Championship.

Bubba Watson, Patrick Reed, and Brooks Koepka will tee off at 1:19 p.m. and kick off four consecutive groups of high-level players. The next groups include Jon Rahm, Justin Rose, Martin Kaymer, Sergio Garcia, Adam Scott, Matt Kuchar, Dustin Johnson, Justin Thomas, and Rory McIlroy.

That includes some of the biggest names in the sport. The group featuring Johnson, Thomas, and McIlroy will tee off at 1:52 p.m., so the early afternoon is really where the action is. Golf Channel will feature these groups, and the online coverage will also include extra ShotLink stats and 14th hole analysis in separate streams.

This year’s course has undergone some changes, including the greens being replaced with a new Bermuda grass. There was also a lake added between the sixth and seventh holes, and the 12th hole has been shortened by over 50 yards. It’s still a dangerous hole, with water just off the green.
