Tiger Woods made his second public statement since his arrest for a DUI early on Memorial Day. There has been a steady stream of public information releases by the Jupiter Police Department, whether it was a mug shot, dash cam footage, or booking footage. But we had heard very little from Tiger or his representatives, whether it was agent Mark Steinberg or communications man Glenn Greenspan.

Tiger broke his silence, in a way, on Monday evening with a terse statement tweeted as “By TW.”

He did not specify that he was entering or enrolled in some sort of rehab, just that he was getting professional help for the medications he takes for his back pain and sleep disorder.

When Woods was arrested at the end of May, he told police he was taking Soloxex, Vicodin, Torix, and Vioxx. These were listed on the police report and it’s unclear if Woods simply misstated some of the prescriptions in an impaired state or if he was currently taking all these specific drugs. Ambien was not listed on the police report, which he had reportedly taken along with Vicodin when he crashed his car at his Isleworth home in 2009.

Update: ESPN’s Bob Harig did talk to Steinberg, who added that Tiger had “checked himself into a facility” and was receiving “in-patient treatment.”
