How to watch SB Nation’s live coverage of the American Century Championship from Lake Tahoe

The celebrity golf tournament from Lake Tahoe is much more fun than just some famous people hitting a little white ball around a field. Come hang with us during the first round on Friday.

Golf is viewed as a rigid and staid game, and for the most part, it can be that. But the actual definition of golf is pretty broad — it can be match play, or a muted tournament, or a reason to walk around outside with friends, or just a party.

The American Century Championship probably falls in the final category. It’s an official celebrity event with scores kept, featuring the criminally underused Stableford scoring system. But it’s also an occasion to get a bunch of famous athletes and celebrities together for a nice big party alongside Lake Tahoe. And the celebrities who do play in it keeping coming back — it’s actually hard to get an invite here, unlike so many celebrity golf outings that are loaded up with fringe pros and d-listers.

SB Nation is camped at the ACC all week and will bring you a live show on Friday afternoon, streaming via Facebook Live. Celebrities in the field and on hand this year include Stephen Curry, Justin Timberlake, Aaron Rodgers, Charles Barkley, and Tony Romo. There are golf shots, and DJs, and boats pulling up alongside holes, and fans in swimming trunks, and AJ Hawk spear-tackling bystanders, and dance-offs between shots and ... well, it’s not your normal PGA Tour event.

So come hang with SB Nation on Friday afternoon and then watch the championship coverage on NBCSN starting at 4 p.m. ET for the first round.
