How to watch the American Century Championship online, TV schedule and more

SB Nation is back for more at Lake Tahoe’s golf party, where NBC will have the TV coverage of Stephen Curry, Justin Timberlake, Aaron Rodgers, and more on Saturday.

You may be the kind of person who doesn’t enjoy watching golf. You may find it slow, boring, or just not your thing. Well, the American Century Championship is barely golf, and Saturday should be a pretty fun party to watch for awhile. And if you like golf, well, it’s a very different change-of-pace golf that you can take in before the season’s third major, and you can watch some super famous athletes play the thing you enjoy watching. See, everyone wins here.

The American Century Championship has become one of those annual parties that will come across your phone or computer screen each year, whether you know it or not. That’s because there’s always something happening here that gets picked up everywhere else you consume sports things, and during a particularly slow time on the sports calendar. It might be AJ Hawk spear tackling a fan. Or it might be Steph Curryand Justin Timberlake doing the Carlton dance, with Carlton. Or it might be Aaron Rodgers taking a football launched from a nearby nautical vessel and throwing it down the fairway to Curry, as happened on Friday.

Curry is, no doubt, the top draw in a pretty high-powered field — this is not some random celebrity golf event like so many others that fill out the ranks with people you may or may not have heard of. It’s probably the best one in the category and one in which everyone keeps coming back if they get the invite. And if they don’t get the invite, they’re asking to elbow their way into it. Tahoe in mid-July is not a tough sell.

But the people still want to follow Steph more than anyone else, and on Saturday, he’s with two other headliners that will certainly make their group the focus of the TV coverage. Curry will play with Justin Timberlake and Tony Romo, teeing off just before 1 p.m. ET. You can find the full tee sheet and field of celebs here.

NBC will have the TV coverage beginning at 3 p.m. ET and they will show that threesome’s entire back nine. Prior to NBC’s coverage, SB Nation will be running another live show on Facebook. Friday’s show featured JT acing his first try at Golf Pong, some possibly inappropriate comments from J. Peterman, and Steph trying to figure out what exactly SB Nation stands for, among other things. So come back Saturday for another unpredictable hour before NBC takes the reins with the actual golf shots.
