Jordan Spieth has seemingly been chugging champagne non-stop from the Claret Jug after winning the British Open. To celebrate his 24th birthday on Thursday, though, the three-time major winner put his prized cup to a more utilitarian, and certainly more creative, use, employing it as a cupcake caddy.

Jordan Spieth celebrated his 24th birthday by using the British Open prize as a glorified plate.

The jug has been just about everywhere since Spieth defeated Matt Kuchar by three shots Sunday at Royal Birkdale.
He has caroused with his BFFs and got the ewer a raucous ovation when he took it on stage with him during a country music concert on Tuesday.
The other folks in the birthday photo his mother, Christine Spieth, took, are Spieth’s brother and sister. And nice job, mom, getting a cake the right size to fit into the jug.
Should Spieth put the decanter down long enough to play, and win, the PGA Championship in two weeks, he’ll not only complete the career grand slam but will have another vessel from which to sip the bubbly, or do what 2015 Open Championship winner Zach Johnson did with his claret jug, and nibble corn on the cob from the Wanamaker Trophy.
Or maybe, since Spieth’s from the Lone Star State and not ZJ’s Iowa, the Dallas native may fill the Wanamaker with something more down home — like Texas chili or a rack of ribs.
