Pro golfer welcomes Stephen Curry to the Tour with a ‘3-1’ joke engraved on his club

Stephen Curry is making his pro golf debut this week, playing in the field on the highly competitive Web.com Tour. One pro welcomed him with some creative wedge stamping.

The 73-win Golden State Warriors blew a 3-1 lead to the Cleveland Cavaliers. Facts are facts. Intervening events, like a subsequent NBA Championship with Kevin Durant, cannot change history.

So one Web.com Tour player and apparent Cavs fan, Justin Lower, decided to commemorate the 3-1 comeback on his golf club at the same event where Stephen Curry is making his pro golf debut.

Let’s enhance:

Wedge stamping has become an art in golf, with players putting movie quotes, graphics, and all kinds of artwork on their high-lofted sticks. In addition to the new wedge stamp, Lower also has the Cavs logo wrapped in the Larry trophy on the bag.

This is a particularly bold choice given that Curry has won a championship since that halcyon 3-1 summer. Curry, of course, also has his own commemorative stamping reflecting more recent events.

And his own, updated bag with one more trophy on it than the one Lower has in play this week.
