Tony Finau will play the Masters after MRI shows high-ankle sprain
Finau injured himself after landing awkwardly on his left ankle during a hole-in-one celebration.

Golf Channel’s Todd Lewis reported that the 28-year-old American had incurred no critical damage to his left ankle, which he appeared to dislocate during a celebration gone awry after he made a hole-in-one at the fun tilt on the eve of Thursday’s first round. Finau, who appeared to pop his ankle back into place, went all Tiger Woods, who famously said he did the same to a wrist bone after his club hit a root during the final round of the 2015 Masters.
Finau, a dark horse to win the men’s first major of the season, is scheduled to tee off at 12:43 p.m. ET with Bernhard Langer and Yuta Ikeda.
