Watch Patrick Reed put on his green jacket after winning the 2018 Masters

It’s his first-ever major.

Patrick Reed won the 2018 Masters after shooting a -15 at Augusta National on Sunday. It’s Reed’s first-ever major victory, and a big one that’ll change both his life and golf career forever. Shortly after he finished his round, he was greeted by 2016 champion Sergio Garcia to receive the signature green jacket:

The coolest thing here was Reed’s sigh after putting on the signature Masters green coat — it’s an awesome moment to see whenever somebody wins it. Sunday’s ceremony certainly didn’t disappoint.

“I knew that the lead was going to shrink at some times,” Reed said on CBS after the victory. “I knew the lead could grow, it’s just the flow of golf, you just have to handle it. The only way I knew I could get that done was to make sure the putter was working, and it was tough out there.”

Doug Ghim, this year’s amateur participant was also present for the ceremony, as is tradition.

Reed had to fight off Rickie Fowler and Jordan Spieth late in his round, while competing directly against Rory McIlroy early on. Not only does Reed get this jacket, he gets a nice prize of $1.98 million, too.
