Tiger Woods may have been on his way back down the coast to his home in South Florida on Friday night. At 1-under, it looked like he would miss the cut at The Players Championship by a shot. When he walked off the course, he was safely above the cut line but the way scores had been going, there was a chance it would move up another stroke and he’d be done. It did, and much of the afternoon at TPC Sawgrass was spent with the cut at 2-under.

Then Tiger got a little indirect help from his friends. As the last groups in the second round finished up at the Stadium Course, three bogeys suddenly shifted the cut line in the final half hour of play. Missed putts from Justin Thomas, Jordan Spieth, and Wesley Bryan brought an entire new set of players at 1-under back in tho the fold with those in the top 70 (and ties) making it to the weekend. There were jokes about how the Tour and Spieth and Thomas may have orchestrated something to get the game’s biggest draw and moneymaker a couple more rounds at its most prestigious event.

Regardless of how it happened, we get two more days of Tiger at The Players. He will go off at 9 a.m. ET on Saturday morning alongside Mackenzie Hughes. The Tour tee times work on a “last in first out” policy on the weekend, so because Tiger was among the earliest players posting 1-under on Friday, he’ll be about an hour behind that Spieth and Thomas group and others that came in late Friday and posted that same score.

PGA Tour Live will have the coverage, starting at 8:30 a.m. ET and showcasing the Tiger/Hughes pairing along with the Spieth/Thomas pairing on their featured groups stream. Here are a few of the marquee tee times for the day (all times ET):

8:20 a.m. — Justin Thomas, Jordan Spieth

9 a.m. — Mackenzie Hughes, Tiger Woods

11:20 a.m. — Brooks Koepka, Zach Johnson

11:30 a.m. — Justin Rose, Tommy Fleetwood

11:50 a.m. — Patrick Reed, Adam Hadwin

12:20 p.m. — Bubba Watson, Ian Poulter

1:20 p.m. — Billy Horschel, Jon Rahm

1:30 p.m. — Dustin Johnson, Adam Scott

1:40 p.m. — Sergio Garcia, Bryson DeChambeau

2:10 p.m. — Alex Noren, Jason Day

2:20 p.m. — Chesson Hadley, Charles Howell III

2:30 p.m. — Patrick Cantlay, Danny Lee

2:40 p.m. — Webb Simpson, Charl Schwartzel

And here’s the full tee sheet for the day. Expect the pace to be just over four hours with everyone playing as twosomes and all rolling off the first tee.
