DP World Tour golfer Eddie Pepperell is notorious for voicing his opinion. His social media has always been the place for him to vent.

Pepperell’s latest dig was directed towards LIV Golf and its Team Championship in Miami. He commented on a video of Bryson DeChambeau’s team celebrating and told the world how he really felt.

“I tried, sincerely, I just tried to watch this and feel something genuine. Joy, inspiration, something. And I just cringed,” Pepperell wrote. “It’s just all cringe, the whole show, the teams, the individuals. Hate to shit on something, but honestly, it’s just so far away from being compelling.”

This comment caused an uproar among people who love or support LIV.

“You sound very angry, Eddie,” LIV Golf Nation wrote. “But you are right, your current golf game is in desperate need of some inspiration. You’re on pace to be joining us regular weekend golfers in the workforce soon! Hopefully, you’ll figure it out.”

Sick burn, right? Well, Pepperell didn’t back down and responded in kind.

“Hopefully I will figure it out, and if I don’t, then yes maybe one day I will join you regular weekend golfers,” Pepperell wrote. “But that’s the beauty of professional golf and what keeps players sharp, that possibility of gut wrenching failure. Something that isn’t present on LIV, unfortunately.”

That then opened the door for other fans of LIV to infuse their commentary.

Of the countless replies to his original tweet, Pepperell had one more response to the whole flock of LIV Golf followers.

“As always, the classic ‘jealousy’ comments come out when criticizing LIV,” he wrote. “I’ve no reason to hate LIV or be jealous, if anything I’ve benefitted from it. I’m just observing like everyone else its obvious pitfalls. It had a chance to create something special and it hasn’t.”

Everyone is entitled to their opinion. Pepperell doesn’t like what LIV Golf has put together and isn’t going to change that opinion for anyone.
