Bernhard Langer and his son Jason claimed their record-tying fifth PNC Championship for the family on Sunday. With this win, they match Raymond Floyd with the most wins by a team in the 26 years of this event.
Bernhard Langer, son Jason dominate PNC Championship to claim 5th family belt
Team Langer showed out on Sunday at the PNC Championship as his son Jason carried the team to their fifth victory.

They went nuclear in the final round of the 36-hole scramble as they posted a 13-under 59 to win by two shots at 25-under.
“It’s always special whether you win or not — being here is like the Olympics,” Bernhard Langer said. “They only take 20 teams and probably 25 on the waiting list that would love to be here. It’s always wonderful to get an invitation to come and play here. I’ve got four kids, played with all four of them, and we have a lot of wonderful memories.”
This pairing of the youngest Langer son and dad marks their third title belt together.
His older brother Stefan won twice with Bernhard Langer, but now Jason has bragging rights.
“It’s always nice to have something on my older brother,” Jason said. “The good one was being the youngest winner here because he can never take that one back. But this one’s nice, too.”
The Langers were three shots behind the leaders going into Sunday. While it went right for the Kuchars on Saturday, they went ice cold in Round 2 while the 46-time Champions Tour winner and his son got red hot.
Jason couldn’t miss a putt for most of the day. His dad barely had to use his putter.
“It was incredible. Watching him putt, it was unbelievable,” Langer said. “The ball started on line every time, and it missed, that’s because I misread the green. Otherwise, he probably would have made them all.”
From the start, the Langers were scorching. Team Langer went seven-under through seven holes and made eight birdies on the front nine. They made five birdies on the back and closed with two pars on the 17th and 18th to win.
While they have tied the PNC Championship record, that wasn’t Langer’s mindset. This event isn’t about winning, even though it’s nice to do so.
“The goal was really to have fun,” Langer said. “This is a tournament about family and fun. Maybe if we play well, we might be in contention that would be a bonus. So it all came together.”

The last time this duo won was in 2019. Their first win together was in 2014. Bernhard went back to back with his eldest son Stefan in 2006 and 2007 to earn his first two victories at this tournament.
David Duval and his son Brady finished solo second at 23-under. The 2022 champions, Vijay Singh and Qass Singh contended but settled for third place at 22-under.
Tiger Woods and Charlie finished tied fifth with four other teams at 19-under, including Round 1 leaders, the Kuchars. No one could run down the Langers once they got into the groove.
