YouTube Golf continues to make an impact on the PGA Tour.
Bryan Bros YouTube stars to play alongside each other at PGA Tour Bermuda event
The PGA Tour has paired the Bryan Brothers together for the first two rounds of the Butterfield Bermuda Championship.
Jack Milko has been playing golf since he was five years old. He has yet to record a hole-in-one, but he did secure an M.A. in Sports Journalism from St. Bonaventure University.
Less than three months after the tour hosted the 16-person Creator Classic at the Tour Championship, which included YouTube stars Wesley and George Bryan IV, the Bryan Brothers are back for more.
George IV received an unrestricted sponsor’s invite from the Butterfield Bermuda Championship and will thus make his second start on the PGA Tour this season. He barely missed the cut at the Myrtle Beach Classic in May. It’s also worth noting that George IV last held status on a pro circuit in 2017, when he played 12 events on the PGA Tour Latinoamérica, making his near miss more impressive.
Nevertheless, unlike those first two rounds in South Carolina, George IV will play alongside his brother Wesley during the first two days in Bermuda. Native Bermudan Camiko Smith, who received another one of the sponsor invites, rounds out the pairing for the first 36 holes.
George IV made his PGA Tour debut at last year’s Butterfield Bermuda Championship and tied for 69th—an impressive finish for his first official start on tour. The Bryan brothers did not play in the same pairing a year ago, either.
Wesley, meanwhile, has a lot to play for. He arrives in Bermuda ranked 128th in the FedEx Cup Fall standings, hoping to make his way into the top 125 by year’s end. The top 125 finishers secure PGA Tour membership for the 2025 season.
Luckily for Wesley, he has trended in the right direction since the beginning of the FedEx Cup Fall season in Napa in September. He tied for 13th at the Procore Championship and most recently finished in a tie for 6th at the World Wide Technologies Championship in Mexico. In the two events he played in between, at the Sanderson Farms Championship in Mississippi and the Black Desert Championship in Utah, Wesley posted T-37 and T-21 finishes, respectively.
Wesley is currently 13 points behind Hayden Springer, who occupies the 125th spot, so another strong finish should propel him to the right side of the bubble. Perhaps his brother George IV will help him keep the good mojo going in Bermuda this week. At any rate, these YouTube stars will no doubt entertain fans once more, as they have done so for nearly a decade with their tremendous trick shots, challenges, and other vlogs.
