Photos: PGA Tour, Ryder Cup stars descend upon Wimbledon before The Open

The PGA Tour heads to Scotland for two weeks, so before the Scottish Open kicks off, some tour pros took in the matches at Wimbledon.

Jack Milko has been playing golf since he was five years old. He has yet to record a hole-in-one, but he did secure an M.A. in Sports Journalism from St. Bonaventure University.

Monday at Wimbledon saw thrilling Round of 16 matches, none more entertaining than the five-set battle between American Taylor Fritz and German Alexander Zverev.

Tommy Paul also won his match earlier in the day, thus sending two Americans to the Wimbledon Quarterfinals for the first time since 2000, per ESPN. Later in the day, Novak Djokovic battled against Holger Rune of Denmark. Their match is still in progress.

Only a lucky few got to witness these terrific matches in person, but part of that fortunate bunch included numerous PGA Tour and Ryder Cup stars.

Luke Donald, who led the European side to victory at Marco Simone in Rome, also witnessed the action on Monday. Donald will also lead Team Europe at Bethpage Black for the 2025 Ryder Cup and will reportedly compete against an American side led by Keegan Bradley.

Matthew Fitzpatrick, who won the U.S. Open in 2022 at Brookline, also attended the Round of 16 matches on Monday:

LIV Golf’s Tyrrell Hatton was also in attendance. Hatton, fresh off a dominant LIV Golf win in Nashville, will compete in Andalucía later this week at Real Club Valderrama in Spain, the course that hosted the 1997 Ryder Cup.

The other players in London on Monday will not tee it up for this week’s Genesis Scottish Open, a co-sanctioned event between the PGA Tour and the DP World Tour. Fleetwood, Lowry, and Fitzpatrick will instead take a week off before next week’s Open Championship at Royal Troon. Donald did not qualify for this year’s Open.
