Welcome to Playing Through’s daily ritual — Golf Talk Today.

Each day, the crew will discuss various elements of the PGA Tour, LPGA, LIV Golf, and more.

After pushing the first round back to Friday, the PGA Tour is in a golf marathon to complete the Wyndham Championship at Sedgeville Country Club in Greensboro, N.C.

The second round is underway after Round 1 finished Saturday morning. These Tour players better buckle up because they are in for a lot of golf.

This tournament is the final FedEx Cup event, where players can earn points before the playoffs. After this week’s competition, the Top 70 will head to Memphis for the first round at the FedEx St. Jude Championship.

Hopefully, the weather will continue to cooperate so the Tour can find a way to complete 72 holes.

Beau Hossler fired off an incredible 10-under 60 in round one to lead the field. However, there are plenty of guys behind him making a surge themselves. He led by two shots after the first 18 holes. Hossler tees off at 3:28 p.m. ET for his second round.

Billy Horschel tied his career low in the first round with a 8-under 62. He set that record at last year’s Wyndham Championship.

Nick Taylor shot a 7-under 63, playing to improve his position in the FedEx Cup standings.

There were 25 scores of 66 or better in that first round, so it is not only a golf marathon but a tournament in which players must make a lot of birdies.

Tee times began around 8:40 a.m. this morning and will continue until 4:12 p.m. ET. Sunset is around 8:16 p.m., so they could complete the second round, but they will have to play quickly.

As a reminder, fans can watch the Wyndham Championship action on ESPN+ and Golf Channel starting at 1 p.m. ET. CBS Sports will pick up coverage at 3 p.m. ET.

So, brew a pot of coffee, grab some snacks, and settle in for a golf marathon at the PGA Tour’s regular-season finale, the Wyndham Championship.
