Jordan Spieth will return to the PGA Tour at the Pebble Beach Pro-Am in early February, ending the longest stretch without playing professionally.

Three-time major champion Jordan Spieth has announced when he will return to competitive play.
Jack Milko has been playing golf since he was five years old. He has yet to record a hole-in-one, but he did secure an M.A. in Sports Journalism from St. Bonaventure University.
Doug Ferguson of The Associated Press first reported the news.
Spieth has not teed it up since the FedEx St. Jude Championship in mid-August and underwent wrist surgery shortly thereafter. His wrist has bothered him since the 2023 PGA Championship, and then he re-aggravated it after last year’s Ryder Cup. He even felt a tendon in his wrist pop out during last year’s RBC Heritage, which almost forced a withdrawal.
Needless to say, an operation was long overdue.
“I had some really bad habits for a long time,” Spieth told Ferguson.
“Whether it was something that would have happened anyway or whether anything in my wrist was causing me not to be able to get into certain positions, I don’t have that issue now. Having to take three months off swinging forces you to come back and be wet concrete.”
Spieth has been practicing for about a month but revealed that he did not touch a golf club for 12 weeks after his surgery.
He considered playing in next week’s The American Express in the Coachella Valley but decided to play it safe and wait for the West Coast Swing to kick off his 2025 season. World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler plans to do the same, as the fellow Texan suffered a hand injury on Christmas Day.
With Spieth — and, as it stands right now, Scheffler — making their season debuts on the Monterrey Peninsula, the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am should feature plenty of firepower. Rory McIlroy has begun his PGA Tour season at this event over the last couple of years as well.
But Spieth’s return to Pebble Beach is a welcome sight for golf fans everywhere. He remains one of the most popular players on the planet, and it will be great to see Spieth healthy and back playing again.
