LIV Golf’s Pat Perez to take on big new role with Saudi-backed circuit

Jack Milko has been playing golf since he was five years old. He has yet to record a hole-in-one, but he did secure an M.A. in Sports Journalism from St. Bonaventure University.

Pat Perez joined LIV Golf right after it launched in 2022 but has not found much success on the Saudi-backed circuit. He finished the 2024 season ranked 48th in the individual standings, barely out of the relegation zone, but now he will not have to worry about maintaining his position for 2025.

That’s because Perez is shifting to broadcasting, where he will be an on-course analyst for LIV Golf broadcasts. The big career move comes after LIV shifts from The CW Network to Fox Sports, a move that LIV anticipates will improve its terrible ratings from the previous two seasons.

“I’m full-steam on this thing,” Perez said in a statement released by LIV Golf’s social media.

“I’m really excited to do it. It’s a perfect mid-life restart for me.”

Perez will join another LIV player turned analyst in Bubba Watson, who conquered Augusta National twice in 2012 and 2014 but never saw similar success on LIV. Watson finished 53rd in LIV Golf’s 2024 individual standings, with his best finish being a T-15 in Las Vegas last February.

Watson has not assumed full-time analyst duties and hopes to continue playing in 2025. However, he did serve as an analyst during last month’s Crypto.com Showdown. If his poor results continue, he will likely join Perez full-time sooner rather than later.

The rest of the LIV Golf broadcast team will remain the same going into its fourth season as a league. Arlo White will assume host and play-by-play duties, while David Feherty and Jerry Foltz will remain as analysts. Su-Ann Heng is also slated to return as an on-course commentator.
