Well, this was inevitable. You can’t spell “hip hop” without “inexplicable and completely random delays”, so of course Lil Wayne’s planned Thursday morning release from Rikers was delayed by 24 hours.

According to MTV, Rikers official explained the decision saying, "His time was miscalculated. He owes one more day of 'good time' so it's gonna be another day." Of course, there are plenty of reports out there that he did get released, so we probably won't know for sure until he releases a six-part mixtape in the next 24 hours to celebrate his freedom.
↵After all, just this week, Jon Gruden Bill Clinton said of Lil Wayne, “This guy’s smart. And he’s got ability.” And in any case, tomorrow’s Weezy Friday, and he’ll be free by then.
