Did you ever feel like you had a parent who cared too much about your little league team? This should help put things in perspective: Saturday night, Nassau police busted a 44 year-old woman named Janet Chiauzzi for sending a series of threatening letters to the Little League coach that passed over her son for a travel team. It’s a late night talk show’s dream.
Long Island Moms Take Little League Pretty, Pretty Seriously
From little league to the penal league, amirite?!

And if this seems like some scripted storyline for a Bravo reality show, that’s because it basically is. All those caricatures of fiery housewives taking things a step too far? Yep. Right here:
[She] sent numerous letters to the coach threatening violence against his wife and 14-year-old daughter, Nassau County police said. She even sent a letter to the principal of the coach’s children’s school claiming he was molesting his kids, cops said.
This led to an investigation by Nassau County Protective Services, which determined the allegations were bogus. Chiauzzi also sent six more letters to officials with the East Meadow Little League team trashing him and demanding he be fired, cops said.
Yes, it seems in addition to the obvious crimes (threatening to violence against a 14 year-old girl), there were a number of laws broken here. It’s reassuring, to be honest. Even if it wasn’t initially clear as to what law she was breaking by alleging that her son’s little league coach was a child molester, something like that seems like it should be illegal. Good to know the authorities have all the bases covered on this one (HEY-O!).
