Bud Selig’s farewell tour

Allison Joyce

Jayson Stark had the scoop: Bud Selig wants to visit all 30 major-league parks in his last year as commissioner:

In fact, Selig said, he would like to spend his last year as commissioner on a Mariano Rivera-type tour of all 30 major league parks, speaking not with baseball dignitaries but with fans and people who work in his sport behind the scenes.

Hrm. Seems like that could work better in some places than others. All 30 parks, eh? Wonder ... hrmm ... let me check something.

Looks like the answer is "10 years ago," if you were wondering. If he's really looking for a Mariano Rivera-like tour, he has to go on the field, right? Pre-game ceremonies and all that?

I'd watch that. On pay-per-view if I had to.
