The best cherry-picking tool ever invented

Well, since the cherry-picker, I guess.

Kyle Terada-USA TODAY Sports

Have you ever been smacked in the face with a “Jack Morris won more games in the ‘80s than anyone else” argument? I have nuggets and tidbits that are just as interesting and convincing, and I pass them along to you now:

  • Lip Pike led the majors with 20 home runs between 1871 and 1879
  • From 1899 to 1902, Noodles Hahn led the majors in strikeouts
  • George Brett led the majors in triples from 1972 to 1982
  • The Milwaukee Braves led the majors in attendance from 1952 to 1962

You’ll find all that and more in the best Internet time waster ever this week, The Baseline Cherrypicker. Seriously, just mess around with it for a while. It’s one of my favorite things of 2014.

Don’t forget to search through the “team wins” option to remember why everyone hates the Yankees.
