According to a report by the Milwaukee Business Journal, the IndyCar Series will return to the Milwaukee Mile but the exact date will not be known until a Wednesday press conference with officials from the promoters, Andretti Sports Marketing.
Report: Milwaukee Mile returns to IndyCar schedule in 2014, date TBA Wednesday
The historic Milwaukee Mile has hosted Indy car races since 1937 and will return to the schedule in 2014 according to multiple sources. The date will be announced during a Wednesday press conference.

Prior to the confirmation, race promoter Michael Andretti said he wanted to host another race at the historic one mile speedway in West Allis, Wis. but could not provide assurances. For the second year in a row, his Andretti Sports Marketing promoted an event that catered to both racing fans and general entertainment consumers at the Speedway on Father’s Day weekend.
The major question to be answered on Wednesday will be the exact date. Participating in a press conference will be Andretti and the event’s general manager Kevin Healy.
Previously announced 2014 IndyCar races from May through July include the Grand Prix of Indianapolis (May 10), Indianapolis 500 (May 25), Detroit (May 31-June 1), Texas (June 7), Pocono (July 6) and Toronto (July 19-20).
The complete schedule will be revealed via press release and a championship preview show that will air on Thursday night at 8 p.m. ET on the NBC Sports Network.
State Fair Park and Andretti Sports Marketing have a three-year contract with a renewal each year. Andretti pays $25,000 for use of the facility and the two entities share concession revenue. The venue also hosts an annual CRA Super Late Model race.
Andretti Autosport driver and defending IndyCar Series champion Ryan Hunter-Reay is the defending winner of the event and has won both times since Andretti revived the race prior to the 2012 season.
