Dario Franchitti stars in ‘2012 Indy 500 Flashback’ Axe Apollo Commercial

Dario Franchitti winning the 2012 Indianapolis 500 was pretty impressive, but nothing beats an astronaut, according to Axe Body Spray.

The male grooming product’s most recent line of Apollo commercials feature an astronaut one-upping other fantastic feats, and the wild finish of the 2012 Indy 500 is no exception.

The IndyCar commercial, which started airing in advance of this year’s 500, shows a dramatized reenactment of last year’s under-yellow finish and stars several of Franchitti’s legitimate race-winning crew shunning their driver in victory lane in lieu of an astronaut crossing the track after the finish.

The most humorous part of the commercial can be seen in the closing seconds as the moon-walker attempts to kiss the bricks - without removing his helmet.
