IndyCar Series Championship Standings: Marco Andretti takes top spot after Indy 500
Marco Andretti took the IndyCar championship lead from Takuma Sato after finishing fourth in the Greatest Spectacle in Racing

Indianapolis continued the career-best for Andretti that has seen him contend on virtually every track IndyCar has visited this season. He has an average finish of 4.8 in a campaign that has already competed on three street courses (his former weak spot), a road course and the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
Andretti has traditionally been a contender on superspeedways and short tracks, leading many to believe he has become the odds-on favorite to win the 2013 season championship.
Takuma Sato struggled on Sunday, spinning by himself at one point but rallied to finish in 13th. The finish leaves him 11 points behind Andretti with Helio Castroneves using a sixth-place finish on Sunday to creep up to just 16 points out of the top spot.
Defending champion Ryan Hunter-Reay and James Hinchcliffe complete the top-five. The complete championship standings can be found below.
