IndyCar releases statement on the passing of Jason Leffler
The former NASCAR Nationwide Series regular passed away on Thursday following a sprint car accident at Bridgeport Speedway in New Jersey.


Before switching to NASCAR, Leffler competed in the USAC Series where he won three consecutive Midget championships from 1997-99. He also competed in the 2000 Indianapolis 500, where he finished 17th.
INDIANAPOLIS (Wednesday, June 12, 2013) - INDYCAR extends its deepest sympathies and condolences to the family of Jason Leffler for their tragic loss. Jason was a USAC champion who made three INDYCAR starts, including the 2000 Indianapolis 500. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family during this difficult time.
