Target Chip Ganassi Racing managing director Mike Hull was diplomatic when interviewed by NBC Sports Network following the penalty that was assessed to Scott Dixon for a pit lane infraction on lap 70 of Sunday’s IndyCar Series race at Sonoma.

Representatives from both Target Chip Ganassi Racing and Team Penske argued their cases on Twitter following the pit road penalty to Scott Dixon.

Dixon was dropped from the lead and ultimately finished in 15th. He fell from 33 points to 39 behind championship leader Helio Castroneves after the Brazilian finished seventh.
On Sunday and Monday respectively, Hull and Penske Racing President Tim Cindric took to Twitter to defend their individual perspectives on the accident that may have eliminated Dixon from the race and season championship.
Hull’s first tweet was longer than 140 characters and required the Twitlonger account to deliver his full thoughts to the public.
“Have now watched a real replay; understand safety, but he walked into us; @IndyCar needs to move from postage stamp video into real world; @scottdixon9 been affected now twice & @dariofranchitti (Toronto) by their lack of tech upgrade in a so-called-innovative series. Thought they’re in same bldg as IMSProductions.”
His Penske counterpart, Cendric also serves as the race strategist for Will Power (as Hull does for Dixon) and maintained his belief that IndyCar made the right decision.
