Ever heard a racing term and thought, “What on earth does that mean?” IndyCar asked a few of the drivers to help out with some of the more common racing words.
There’s a technical term for everything and acronyms too. It’s made even more complicated when factoring in the nicknames that racing people assign to entries in the vast motorsports dictionary.
To assist in the learning curve, IndyCar asked the drivers to help out with some of the more common definitions. A video of their explanations can be found above with Tony Kanaan, Will Power, Justin Wilson and Simon Pagenaud acting as guest lecturers.
